What to Include in The Perfect Obituary An obituary is written
to give a account of someone's life. It can be published in local newspapers, alumni newsletters, military news, society newletters,
etc. When my father passed, it was difficult to decide what details to include. Fortunately, my sister, a professional writer,
handled this aspect of his funeral plans. Here is a helpful list of things you may want to include. Full Name Date and Place of Birth Date
and Place of Death Surviving Family Members' Names including spouse or partner,
children, parents, siblings and grandparents Interests, Passions, Hobbies, Publications,
Honors, Military Service, Awards and Distinctions Brief Summary of Career
Costs Obituaries are often considered paid notices. Newspapers
will have a price per line or per word. Headings cost more. There is typically a set up fee and photo fee.
Prepayment is often necessary. Sample pricing: News Tribune charges per line. There are
about 5 words per line. The heading is considered 2 lines. Each line costs $8.16. Plus the photo for$132. Set
up fee of $17.50. Decide on your budget and make the most of it. Where
